General Magic
I’m currently the General Manager at General Magic. GM at GM. If you say hi to me also say GM. Then you’d be saying GM to the GM at GM (did I mention I was a dad and like dad jokes?).
What does General Magic do? We’re a product studio and service agency in the web3 space. That basically means we build our own products (and support other projects) like Giveth, Pairwise, Unicorn.eth, and Praise to name a few, and we also provide dev and design services as well.
What exactly do I do for General Magic? I handle our overall business strategy, and support the finance, HR, hiring, BD, and marketing teams.
Course
In my last role at AstroLabs, I was heavily involved in training and built out a few successful courses in digital marketing as well as a coding bootcamp that trained thousands of students.
For the last few months, I’ve been thinking about what a kick ass web3 course would look like. Something that could give my friends a crash course in the non scammy side of crypto. i.e how to use crypto and web3 to become financial independent (by taking custody of your own funds), how to avoid scams and how to get involved with public goods projects that I think are changing the world (like the work Giveth and others are doing). I currently finished the outline of this course and am planning to release it later this year. If you want to get involved or have thoughts, hmu!
Books
I’m currently reading:
Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. I heard this book popularized the term “metaverse” in the early 90s and predicts a lot of trends (especially in the crypto space). I’m about 25% of the way through and I love it so far.
